TrueCSSApp operates the website at truecssapp.com — a free, browser-based CSS gradient generator. References to "we", "us", or "our" mean TrueCSSApp.

2. What data we collect

Data you enter into the tool

The gradient generator runs entirely in your browser. Colour values, gradient settings, token names, and any other inputs you enter are never transmitted to our servers. When you close or refresh the page, this data is gone.

Usage data — Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Country-level location (not precise location)
  • How you arrived at the site (search, direct, referral)
  • Device type (desktop, tablet, mobile)

This data is aggregated and anonymised. We do not have access to personally identifiable information through Analytics. Analytics data is only collected after you give consent via our cookie banner.

Inbound Communications (Email Inquiries)

If you contact us directly via email (such as writing to support@truecssapp.com), we collect your email address, name (if provided), and the content of your message.

  • Legal Basis: We process this data based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) to reply to your questions, resolve technical bugs, or fulfill legal obligations.
  • Data Infrastructure, Routing & Retention: Your emails are initially handled and securely routed by our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), which forwards the communication packets directly to our destination mailbox hosted by Google LLC (USA). By sending an inquiry, you acknowledge that your communication data is transferred internationally to these entities to fulfill your request. We never use your email address for marketing lists, and we permanently delete communication history from our mailboxes once your inquiry is completely resolved unless legally required to retain it.

3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, we process your data on the following legal bases:

  • Consent — Analytics cookies are only placed after you explicitly consent via our cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time using the Manage cookies link in our footer.
  • Legitimate interests — for basic server logging necessary to operate the site securely.

4. Google services

We use Google Analytics 4 (via Cloudflare Zaraz) to collect anonymised usage statistics. This service is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We have implemented Google Consent Mode v2. The Analytics script only activates after you grant consent. Before consent, only anonymised, aggregate signals are sent.

5. How long we keep data

Analytics data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics, after which it is automatically deleted. We do not store any personal data on our own servers.
